Tavistock’s Goose fair
Wednesday 9th October 2019
Tavistock’s annual Goose Fair is one of the West Country’s most well-known fairs, with origins from the 12th century.
The town is taken over is with fairground rides, market stalls, side shows and food stands. The more traditional side of Goose fair can still be seen in Tavistock’s Livestock Centre, where you can see sheep, cattle and Dartmoor ponies, and the auction of live poultry. It is an event much anticipated by locals but also draws thousands of visitors each year.

October 5th to 12th
Shops, cafes, restaurants and market traders taking part are putting on special £5 deals along with 50 other towns throughout UK encouraging shoppers back into their local town centres and high streets with brilliant £5 promotional offers. Look out for the posters around town and online promoting all the Fiver Offers
Tavistock Art Market
When: Saturday 5th October 9am – 4pm
Tavistock Art Market is a monthly Art and Craft with variety of local artists and craftspeople; hosted in Butchers Hall.
Pretty and Punk Southwest Wedding Fair
When: 6th October 2019 11am to 3pm (Free Entry).
South West Wedding Fair in Tavistock Town Hall, Butchers Hall and Bedford Square.
Bridal goodie bags and a drink on arrival. Special Guest speaker.
Go Gothic – In Tavistock
When: 12th – 19th October
Hosted by Tavistock Library and supported Tavistock Heritage Trust as part of ‘Tavistock’s 1st Gothic and Neo-Gothic Celebration – Literature, Art, Architecture, Theatre, Film and Creative Fun. Culminating in a market and author event on Saturday the 19th of October 2019.

Water & Colour in Cothele Gallery: National Trust Cothele

Halloween at the Tamar Trails
When: Saturday 29th October
Come down to the Tamar Trails this Halloween for an evening of after-dark fun activities.
The Beech Tree Cafe will be serving hot food into the evening, with outside fire bowls, lanterns and warm blankets for knees, to enjoy the autumn night sky.
